Smarta.com Devoted to Entrepreneurs

picture-23Focused on UK businesses, Smarta was founded by serial entrepreneur Shaa Wasmund. It’s a resource portal for new businesses to support them throughout their growth.

Shaa has a lot of experience in business startups and her resume’ proves it. She’s sold one successful venture and partnered with some big names like BrightStation Ventures for others.

Smarta is supported by Dragons Den entrepreneurs Simon Woodroffe, Theo Pathitis, and Deborah Meaden. Other support comes from Michael Birch (Bebo), RBS/NatWest, and Vodafone. Smarta is not affiliated with BrightStation.

The Smarta site itself is well-built, easy to use, and easily navigated. It’s still in beta, but you wouldn’t know it when using it. A lot of well-known entrepreneurs are there to give advice through articles, well-done video interviews/commentary, and more. Common (UK-centric) business tools to get your startup started are there as well as inspirational nuggets and forums for interacting with other entrepreneurs.

Overall, the site is highly useful and very nicely done. I think most UK-based small business owners would find something of use there and many might find the advice or help they’re looking for. If nothing else, it’s good for a boost-me-up when you’re feeling hopeless about your biz.

  1. These days, entrepreneurs have so many options in the way of advertising. The Internet has made it possible for small businesses and individuals to compete with major corporations for market share. That's why you can find major name corporations like Pepsi advertising on Adwido, along side small businesses.
