iPhone patent points towards redesign

The eagerly awaited iPhone is expected to blow all competition out of the water as a new patent that has been filed hints at a redesign many people were expecting when the iPhone 4S was released last year.

The eagerly awaited iPhone is expected to blow all competition out of the water as a new patent that has been filed hints at a redesign many people were expecting when the iPhone 4S was released last year.

According to a report on AppleInsider, Foxconn CEO Terry Gou has informed customers that they should forget about buying the new Samsung Galaxy S3 and should hold off until the iPhone 5 is released for what will be the most powerful smartphone ever released.  Mr. Gou said that such is the power of the new iPhone that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will pale in comparison.

A number of reports that appeared across the internet stated that Apple has filed a number of patents, some of which include drawings of the new phone that shows significant moves away from the design of the 4S, although the basic design of the phone will stay the same.

A smaller and narrower docking port is expected to be included as well as a camera lens and sensor that will be moved closer to the ear speaker rather than positioned in the same place as the 4S.  The screen, as has been widely speculated, is expected to be larger than the current 3.5-inch display at around four inches.

As usual, Apple is remaining tight lipped about the new phone, including the expected release date, although experts are still expecting it to be released around October.
